About us:

Andres Bike Studio started in the Sierra Nevada mountains, in a small town named Minca near the Caribbean coast in Colombia. I was given my first double suspension bike by a generous friend, but when it broke I didn’t have the financial means to get it repaired, so I turned to YouTube and there began my career as a bike mechanic. Bit by bit, I taught myself how to fix a puncture, how to tune my gears, how to change components, and the general knowledge I needed so I didn’t need to take my bike to a bike shop.
I managed to land my first job as a bike mechanic for a downhill bike tour company in a small town called San Gil in Colombia. From there I continued learning, and worked in Quito, Ecuador, followed by Cusco, Peru, refining my skills and exploring the local trails by bike at the same time.
Finally I landed in Queenstown, New Zealand - a mountain biker’s paradise and the perfect place to make my dream a reality and build my own bike mechanic workshop.
Andres’ Bike Studio is a place where you can expect the highest level of quality, care and detail administered on your bike so it will feel brand new when you pick it up, however it is also a place for the community. I want to provide more access to biking for those who can’t afford a bike, or educate those who are keen to start but don’t know where to begin. I love sharing my passion for working on bikes, so my workshop door is always open to anyone who is keen to learn.
Whether you are a local or visitor to Queenstown, please come and visit Andres Bike Studio, I would love to meet you and your bike!
Cheers
Andres
